We arrived on a wet, rainy day and rushed to the holding area for the seat fillers - an open-air, covered parking structure. There were about 150 well-dressed people shivering in line already. We were almost the last to arrive. If we'd been 5 minutes later, we wouldn't have gotten in. We made it just in time to get the wristbands and handstamps required for entry.

Here's Elaine in her gorgeous silver gown. Notice the lady in the background freezing to death. It was really cold in that garage!

Shortly after we arrived, we were taken upstairs to a big holding area. It was dark, ugly, and there were no chairs for us to sit in, but at least it was warm and dry. So we waited....and waited...and waited...

Some people ended up sitting on the dirty floor in their formal clothing!

Here's a picture of Kaye and Elaine in all their finery. What's with that look on Kaye's face?!

Here's what the view was looking over the balcony onto the main floor below. All the tables were set up for the celebrities and guests.

After about 60-90 minutes of waiting, we finally were moved onto the floor below. The show was about to begin.

The celebrities and their guests were mostly seated when we arrived on the floor. Wherever there was an empty chair, a seat filler sat down. If the scheduled person showed up, the seat filler left and found another empty seat.

Kaye was moved once, but then stayed at the second table for the rest of the show. At Kaye's table was Lindsay Felton, from the Nickelodeon show, Caitlin's Way and her boyfriend. They were very nice - in fact everyone we spoke with was very nice, except the pages, whose job it was to seat the seat fillers and keep them from talking to anybody famous!

While waiting in line, Elaine decided to go off and look over the balcony. The line moved without her, and when she happened to see the lady who was in front of her in line down on the floor below, she realized that she was supposed to be downstairs too! By the time she got there, the better seats were already taken, so she got stuck in the back of the hall. At the intermission, she moved up to Kaye's table and stayed there the rest of the time.
