Welcome!

An interview with Ms. Megaphone...
Here is a detailed description of the third Megaphone run:
Thursday, 7 Sep 2000
We went back up to Studio City to make a few more drive-bys with the megaphone, but to our surprise, there sat a CBS security guard (read: rent-a-cop!) sitting in his parked Explorer (nice car CBS!) waiting for us.

We went down an alternate alleyway, got out of the car, crept to the edge of the alley (all the while, my hubby is making these ridiculous cartoon "dee dee dee" noises as we tiptoed along in the dark!) to where we could see. Then we spied on him for a few minutes to see what he was doing. He wasn't really doing anything. Except hindering our efforts, that is....

Inside, the HGs were wondering where Ms. Megaphone was - unbeknownst to them, I was sitting outside waiting for one of them to go out! Talk about frustrating!

Finally the report came in that a couple of them were outside. So we decided to go for it. We got everything ready - seat belts fastened, lights out, paper towel covering the license plate, partner-in-crime on the cell phone, and we went for it:

About 9:00 pm, I yelled out:
Hello House guests! Ms. Megaphone is back.
We are proud of you for not selling out.
Britt told Josh who to trust. Make Josh talk!
The ratings are terrible - Sorry!
Letterman hates the show - sorry!
Candidates are Bush & Cheney / Gore & Lieberman
Good job for not selling out!
Gotta go - love you guys!

The lights of the Explorer came on, so we knew our time was up. We hightailed it out of there. Having been there before, I knew an alternate way out, so the guard never even caught up to us.

Reports from inside the compound were that Josh had heard just the very last part,  "gotta go - bye!" as he was walking back outside. RATS!!!

The HGs decided to go out in the yard and (as Curtis put it) innocently play football for a while. They were waiting for me to come back. It was a dilemma. Don't go back, or go back and risk getting caught by the rent-a-cop...

We decided to go back. He was much faster this time! As I was hollering the same message, he drove up at an angle and tried to pin my car into the corner. He got out and was gesturing for my hubby to open his window and for us to get out of the car, but we did neither. Too bad for him, I was able to back out and take off.
He was trying to radio the description of my car to (whomever?), but he couldn't figure out what kind of car it is! We got away for a second time.

Reports from inside the house were that the HGs were sequestered inside the boys' bedroom and they had gotten most of my message......wrong! They thought I'd said, "The government hates the show - sorry!" Letterman, government...I guess it sounds the same...NOT! Whatever... <LOL> Jamie announced, "When we get out of here, I'm going to take her out to dinner!"

BB released them rather quickly this time (in comparison to last time) and they were back outside "innocently playing football" again. We had to go back one more time!

They say that the third time's the charm, but I don't know if I agree. We went back and shouted our message again, prefaced with JAMIE! Dinner - YES! Then took off. The rent-a-cop figured out the route I'd taken before and he found me quickly. He chased my car for several miles, even pulling a few dangerous moves. Finally, he pulled off to the side of the road, and gave up the chase. We stopped a few miles away and checked to see if he'd gotten our license plate. NOPE! The paper towel held! Nyah, Nyah!

We went home after that. Meanwhile inside the house, the HGs were saying, "Please come back Ms Megaphone!" Jamie stayed outside by the pool for a long time waiting for us. She told the others that she was going to put me on her friends list, so that she could meet me when she got out. I'd love to go, but doubt it will happen. We got home about an hour later, and I saw her out by the pool waiting.... It was kind of heart wrenching to watch.
