Aloha!
 KAYE AND ERIC'S HAWAII VACATION
Friday at Kualoa Ranch (Continued)
Horseback Riding
One of the activities offered was horseback riding.
Boar or bore?
Kaye and a statue of wild boars. The boars are in the foreground. ha ha!
Tiki
Eric and an ugly tiki statue.
Eric is on the left. ha ha!
De plane, de plane...
This is the Fantasy Island house from the TV series. -->
Skiff to Secret Island

Our second activity was called "Secret Island."
We took this skiff across a salt-water lake.

Secret Island Beach
Secret Island was a private strand of beach where we could go snorkeling, ride a kayak, or lay in a hammock on the beach. Eric and I tried to get on a kayak, but we ended up tipping ourselves and the staff into the water twice! We gave up on that and rode (and rowed) in an outrigger - hard work!
Snorkeling Boat
Then another boat picked us up for our third and final activity - snorkeling.
Boat
Inside the boat.
Snorkeling
Kaye took to snorkeling like a fish to water...
That little dot way beyond everyone else is Kaye.
Hello!
Hello! The brown area is a reef just below the water line.
Chinaman's Hat Island

This little island is called "Chinaman's Hat." Legend has it that it's the tail of a giant lizard...

I'm the king of the...nevermind!
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's... SUPER TOURIST! Ha ha! We were all watching for sea turtles - they were everywhere. They swam around with their necks sticking out of the water like little periscopes.
Incredible Scenery
The view was absolutely gorgeous!
Randy Rowan - Akebono's Brother!
On the ride back, we discovered that the bus driver was none other than Akebono's brother! (Akebono, aka Chad Rowan, is a famous Yokozuna-level sumo wrestler.)  The resemblence is remarkable, but after Kaye checked his ID and confirmed that he was indeed who he said he was, we had a lovely chat! It was quite a treat, as we both are fans of Akebono. Randy was very nice and told us tales of their family. This picture was taken when he dropped us in front of our hotel.
